Running Past the Plan: 2025 in Numbers

2025 in numbers:
Planned 1,000 km… actually ran 1,420 km.
Oops.

Apparently, my legs never got the memo about the original plan.

Somewhere along the way, running quietly turned into my favorite work-life balance strategy. It became the space where stress melted away, focus sharpened, and more problems were solved than I’d like to admit — sometimes while waiting at traffic lights.

What started as a simple numeric goal slowly evolved into something much more meaningful. Running didn’t just improve my fitness; it reshaped how I approach work and motivation.

Here’s what I learned along the way:

  • Running gave me more energy for work, not less.
  • It helped clear my head before big decisions.
  • It reminded me that motivation grows when you actually enjoy the process, not when you obsess over the outcome.

Overshooting the goal wasn’t part of the plan — but honestly, I’m emotionally prepared to do it again.
I guess.
