Secure Email gateway

What is the Secure Email Gateway?

A Secure Email Gateway (SEG) is an advanced email security solution that prevents malicious emails from reaching users' inboxes. It uses artificial intelligence, machine learning and real-time threat detection to filter out spam, malware and phishing attacks.

The system protects your organisation not only against obvious threats - it also provides effective protection against sophisticated, targeted attacks such as BEC (Business Email Compromise).

Impersonation Protection

Impersonation Protection

Prevents attackers from sending deceptive messages on behalf of executives or partners (e.g. CEO-fraud, domain spoofing).

Protection against supplier threats

Protection against supplier threats

Detects compromised or spoofed supplier accounts, invoice fraud and thread diversions.

Secure Email Relay

Secure Email Relay

It enables applications, printers and services to send emails securely and in a controlled manner on behalf of the corporate domain.

Identity-based attack detection

Identity-based attack detection

It detects anomalies in login patterns, suspicious rule changes or access attempts and reacts to them automatically.

The Secure Email Gateway

It not only "filters", but actively prevents targeted email-based attacks, detects signs of internal abuse and ensures that corporate communications are trusted, protected and logged.

SEG
  • All incoming email first passes through the Secure Email Gateway before reaching the user's inbox. This “proxying” allows the system to perform a security scan of the email as it is being transmitted: identifying spam, viruses, phishing content or even Business Email Conversions (BEC) attempts. The system is able to intercept, quarantine or send an alert, so that only secure and verified emails reach the user. This approach is the first and most important line of defence against email attacks.

  • Modern email protection goes beyond spam filtering: it uses intelligent, content-based scanning to detect suspicious messages, attachments or links. It automatically blocks known and unknown malware, identifies patterns using machine learning and categorises incoming traffic. In addition, DNS-based blacklists, IP replication, SPF/DKIM/DMARC checks and sandboxing support decision-making. The result: reduced spam rates, less exposure, more secure mail.

  • The aim of phishing is for attackers to use fake or deceptive emails to steal sensitive data - such as passwords, login details, financial information. The protection is based on sender identity verification, domain authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) and behavioural pattern recognition. It can detect spoofed domain names (e.g. "micros0ft.com"), deceptive display names and targeted BEC-type attacks that contain neither attachments nor links - just deceptive text and false identity. Visual warnings such as the headline "This message has been received from outside" also help the user to make an informed decision.

  • Traditional rules-based filtering is no longer sufficient: modern threats hide, wait, or mimic normal mail. Advanced threat detection uses behavioural analysis, machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) to monitor email patterns. For example, if a known partner sends a large attachment from a new IP address at an unusual time, the system will alert. Detection of such anomalies enables timely detection of complex attacks such as supply chain attacks, conversation thread hijacking or internal account hijacking.

Full protection, without compromise

Inshipia Secure Email Gateway stops sophisticated attacks, reduces the risk of human error and provides security for all users - people, systems and devices.
Our solutions are built on advanced threat detection and automated response, so that manipulated or targeted attacks are blocked before they reach your organisation. The system alerts on suspicious messages, supporting users in making informed decisions and significantly reducing the number of incidents resulting from human error. It also helps you comply with industry regulations such as GDPR, ISO 27001 and HIPAA, with detailed logging and rules-based operations - so that security is not only visible, but also verifiable.

What attacks does the SEG protect against?

Spam

Unsolicited bulk emails that clog up your inbox and interfere with efficient working. They often contain misleading links or low-risk but disturbing content.

Malware

An attachment or link containing malicious code that attempts to infect devices via email. Examples include ransomware, which encrypts files in exchange for ransom.

Phishing

Deceptive emails designed to obtain sensitive data such as passwords or banking information. They often arrive in the name of well-known companies or executives, creating a false sense of security.
